The role reports directly to the Senior Manager Installation ADC, forming an integral part of the product installation team for Omnicell ADC systems and software. Working alongside the project engineers the role is responsible for the installation and configuration of servers, interfaces and other system connectivity pieces to deliver customer solution and business revenue objectives.
Ensure that applications and interfaces for hospital systems are planned, tested and ready for deployment in line with project installation requirements
Working with the project installation team, during project implementation ensure installation and configuration of all servers, interfaces and related connectivity pieces
Perform testing, trouble shooting and user acceptance of system integration functionality
Assists the project implementation team during the pre-implementation meetings to handle technical connectivity, integration and interface questions
Escalate to product development and customer solutions teams identified gaps in systems integration and connectivity for resolution
Provide feedback on product system specifications / requirements to product development team
Escalate identified opportunities for customer system and operating software upgrades to level 3 technical support and sales team
Requirement Knowledge and Skills:
5 GCSE or equivalent Grades A-C (including Mathematics & English Language)
Three A Level or equivalent Grades A-C
Bachelor’s Degree required, or an equivalent combined experience/education in the areas of Computer Science or Information Technology
3+ years of working in a similar role including time within a related healthcare industry
Proven ability in fast learning of specific requirements of complex operations
Effective communication skills both within teams and customer environments
Clinical system and software installations in the acute care hospital environment – supply chain and pharmacy
Clinical applications, clinician workflow processes and patient care/cost impact awareness
Healthcare industry experience in designing and implementing pharmacy, nursing, and hospital supply workflows
Good level of understanding modular software design methodologies & architectures
Good level of understanding of Microsoft’s SQL data bases, Windows 7, Windows 2003/2008, enterprise Level IT architecture and information security
Strong knowledge of Ethernet and wireless networking, client to server transactional processing, domain architecture, and network printing
Knowledge of and experience with data exchange formats – HL7, EDI Standards X.12, XML, JSON etc.
Knowledge of communication methods e.g. WS, Socket, HTTPS, SFTP etc.
Knowledge of industry systems such as EHR, CPOE/EPMA, HL7, ERP, EMAR etc.
Familiarity with working with PHI and confidential data products
Demonstrated integration test successes
Excellent understanding of the business process analysis and integration development methodology
Ability to clearly document customer requirements as it relates to using integration engines to connect systems
Demonstrate strong analytical skills with an ability to rapidly resolve cross-functional issues
Strong organisational skills and ability to coordinate multiple project priorities
Mixed – Office, field based remote and customer sites within a hospital setting
Some extended / irregular hours in line with customer project requirement
Physically demanding at times during installations
